National University of Singapore Lab Officer / Assistant Jobs

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a comprehensive university with 13 faculties and more than 30,000 students. The Interactive Multimedia Lab is currently under the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National University of Singapore, while having close collaborations with NUS Institute of Interactive Digital Media and NUS Hollywood Lab. Our research interests are image processing, computer vision, human-machine interaction, digital media, and visual perception. Our researchers and students come from 9 countries and multiple disciplines, including arts, architectural, engineering, and computer science. The lab encourages commercialization of inventions developed from the lab. The lab spin-off company, MXR Corporation Pte Ltd, www.mxrcorp.com, has become an international well-known company for its patented technologies and the innovations.

We’re looking for a motivated and professional individual who is an experienced and talented programmer. We are planning to complete several projects for our research that are going to commercialize. Due to the nature of our research work, those who possess highly flexible and rapid prototyping skill will be preferred.

Lab Officer / Assistant

Job Scope:

• To provide laboratory support for our research staffs and supervisor
  
• To maintain, enhance and manage the existing web applications (website and CMS) and lab servers/computers
  
• To oversee the maintenance for equipments
  
• To process the procurement of equipments/consumables for research/equipment and support claiming process
  
• To provide other administrative support that might be requested by the lab director
  

Job Requirements:

• NITEC, Higer NITEC or Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or any related disciplines.
  
• Knowledge in HTML, CSS, and PHP
  
• Excellent writing skill in English
  
• Able to work independently as well as in a team and self-motivate to pick up new skills and details.
  
• Experience in PC hardware and software application is a plus.

Qualification: lTE, Poly or above in IT or multimedia related field
Working Experience: 2 years or above

The appointment can commence immediately and will be initially for one year (contract based) with possibility for extensions.
