We are looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer who will become key contributors to our Spectroscopy instrument development team. The ideal candidate will be persons with hands-on reliability testing experience on electro-mechanical systems and assemblies. This individual will be working in an aggressive R&D team to develop and execute reliability test plans, and ensure compliance to global regulatory and safety standards of our next generation instruments.
Senior / Reliability Engineer (R&D)
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, modify and execute hardware test plans for analytical and scientific instrumentation
- Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of hardware components and assemblies
- Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality, reliability and robustness
- Design and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting scientific/analytical instruments
- Create test methods for achieving required levels of product reliability, serviceability and transportability
- Determine reliability requirements of components and electromechanical systems to achieve company and customer reliability objectives
- Develop acceleration techniques and tools by utilizing HALT testing methods to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products
- Oversee and act as the local expert of compliance testing for CE, UL, CSA and other regulatory standards
- Aid in the development of packaging and testing of packaging for freight, environment and other factors
Key Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field. Candidates with advance training will have an advantage
- At least 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience, including minimum 2 years of reliability test engineering experience in a R&D environment
- Strong aptitude for hands-on engineering testing and experimentation
- Ability to prioritize and work independently and proactively is critical for success
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple and complex tasks in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional global product development environment
- Excellent verbal and written (English) documentation and communication skills are vital for this position
